ICAI Pune Box Cricket League 2026 - Men’s League

Men’s League Registrations :
(Total Teams: 16)
The Men’s League shall consist of 16 teams divided into two registration categories as follows:
Category A – Owner Registration :
• Team Count: 12 Teams
• Registration Type: Team (Owner-Based) Registration
• Registration Fees: INR 8,500 Plus GST
• Registration Process:
o The Team Owner shall register the team.
o A complete list of 9 playing members must be submitted at the time of registration.
o Registration shall be confirmed only upon submission of player details and payment of applicable entry fees.
• Selection Basis: First-Come, First-Served (subject to completion of formalities).
Player Eligibility :
A player shall be eligible to participate only if he/she satisfies either of the following conditions:
A ) Member of ICAI
• Must be a valid member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
B) Student of ICAI
• The participant must possess a valid ICAI Registration Number at the time of registration as well as on the date(s) of match participation.
• The participant must be either: o An ongoing articled assistant (articleship in progress); or o An individual who has successfully completed his/her articleship.
The Organising Committee reserves the right to verify eligibility credentials at any stage.
Team Composition & Squad Structure :
A) Squad Size :
• Each team shall consist of 9 players
B ) Substitute Structure :
Each squad must designate:
• 1 Batting Substitute
1 Bowling Substitute
C) Fielding Restriction :
• Only 8 players shall be allowed to field at any given time.
• The Batting Substitute shall not be permitted to field.
• The Bowling Substitute shall be permitted to field.
D) Batting & Bowling Restrictions of Substitutes :

Fielding Position Restrictions :
Behind the Bowler (Off & Leg Side Combined) :
• A calibrated Speed Gun shall be used to measure bowling speed for every delivery.
(8.2 Maximum Permissible Speed.)
Behind the Batting Stumps :
A minimum of two (2) fielders, excluding the wicketkeeper, must be positioned behind the batting stumps at the time of delivery.
Non-compliance shall result in the delivery being declared a No Ball.
Match Format & Bowling Regulations:
Match Format :
• Each match shall consist of 7 overs per side.
• A new ball shall be used for every innings.
Bowling Limitation :
Bowling Limitation
• A bowler shall be permitted to bowl a maximum of one (1) over only per match.
Mandatory Over by Bowling Substitute :
The designated Bowling Substitute must compulsorily bowl one over in the inning
. Batting Regulations :
Opening Requirement :
• The Batting Substitute must mandatorily open the innings
Restriction on Certain Players Batting :
The following players shall not be permitted to bat:
• The Bowling Substitute '
• The Last Not-Out Batsman of the innings
Retirement / Dismissal :
• Standard ICC dismissal rules shall apply unless otherwise modified in these rules.
Scoring & Run Rules :
Net Run Rules :

Running Between Wickets :
• Batsmen may score runs by running between wickets upon striking the ball in any playable area of the turf.
Standard Cricket Provisions :
Rules relating to Wide balls, No balls, Byes, Leg Byes, Overthrows shall be governed as per ICC Playing Conditions.
Bowling Speed Restriction :
Speed Monitoring
• A calibrated Speed Gun shall be used to measure bowling speed for every delivery.
Maximum Permissible Speed

Consequence of Speed Violation :
• Any delivery exceeding the prescribed speed limit shall be declared a No Ball.
• The batting side shall be awarded one run plus a free hit.
Equipment Restrictions :
• Fiber bats are strictly prohibited.
• Only approved standard cricket bats shall be permitted.
Reporting Time :
• All teams must report at the venue 30 minutes prior to the scheduled match time.
• Delay may result in forfeiture or other action at the discretion of the Organising Committee.
General Conduct, Dress Code & Disciplinary Provisions:
Spirit of the Game :
• All matches shall be conducted in the true spirit of cricket
Authority of Umpire :
• The Umpire’s decision shall be final and binding in all on-field matters.
Organising Committee Powers :
• The Organising Committee reserves the right to interpret, amend, or clarify rules in case of any dispute or ambiguity.
Dress Code (Mandatory Compliance) :
• All players must wear the official ICAI jersey during the match.
• Black trousers are mandatory.
• Wearing of shorts is strictly prohibited
Non-compliance may result in:
• Warning for first instance
• Player being barred from participation until compliance
• Further disciplinary action at the discretion of the Organising Committee
