Over the last two years the industry faced many obstacles and hurdles, in terms of getting ready for GST. The Government on the other hand tried to ease the GST processes over a period of time by simplifying filing of registration application, creation of challan for tax payment, the return filing process, E Way bill, and providing relaxation on operational aspects. The GST Council has already approved sweeping changes to the tax return filing system, with a simplified returns format and the facility of E-Invoicing to ease out compliance issues faced by the Industry. The New GST Returns offline tool and consultation paper on E-Invoicing is already in public domain for the stakeholders. The Govt. has also constituted a committee of officers to suggest wide range of reforms to augment GST revenue collection and administration.
